Oh sugar! This post should have gone out in January, it’s 4 days too late. Oh what the heck, at least I didn't give up!

Well, that is the attitude I have had after the clock struck 12 to mark the start of a brand new year, 2016.
How many of you have set a new year’s resolution, or two, and have not yet broken it? Well done to those who are going strong ;)

I am not judging you nor am I pointing fingers. But it’s all about being real and reflecting.

Last year, I set myself high expectations and failed miserably.

My ambitious goals for 2015.
  • Get a six-pack
  • Run a half marathon
  • Read one book per fortnight

Why we make (and break) our New Year's resolutions – and how to stick to them
Taken from Siobhan Norton's post in The Independent
Optimistic, don’t you think?

In case you're wondering, I got close to a four-pack. I definitely did not manage to run a half marathon.

This year, I decided to put a positive twist on my 2016 goals, as motivated by Siobhan Norton’s post in the Independent.

My believable goals for 2016:
  • Get healthier and fitter
A few suggestions, walk instead of taking the bus.
Go for a walk or a run during my lunch break rather than spending an hour an my desk.
Have some fruit instead of a chocolate bar.
  • Attempt two 10k's and get friends involved – this is happening. 10k Bupa run, 30th May, here I come!
  • Do the 7 minute workout at least twice a week
  • Be Happy - more about this, coming soon!
  • Give back to the community
  • Read one book a month

I recall having a conversation in 2013 at a spiritual conference in Barcelona. Yolanda and I were talking about the efforts of social media. I have vivid memories that she said, she was not active on Facebook. Surprised, I asked her why not.

3 years later and her words still resonate, "The more we put in, the more we'll get out of it."

Yolanda wanted to put her time towards a valuable cause, rather than posting to Facebook.

2016 is 'my year'!
Reflecting on her inspirational words and Siobhan’s advice, I hope we can put a positive spin and dedicate time towards our 2016 goals.

I pledge this year will be ‘my year’, where I will succeed my new year’s resolutions. Are you with me?

Have a successful February =)
